Vacation to the UP – part 2

After the wedding, we met up with R’s family. We drove down to a campground about 1/2 way between the wedding and R’s family. We borrowed a tent from some of our friends, while the rest of the family brought a pop-up camper.

It took us a while to figure out how to put the tent together.

attempt #1 was not as successful as we hoped.

attempt #2 resulted in something resembling a tent!

although once we got our clothes and sleeping bags in the tent, it was much more crowded than we expected.
There was a privacy shield over the tent too, but we wanted you to see just how small it was!

R’s sister turned 21 the week before we met up with them, so in celebration we made her buy the beer for our camping trip đŸ™‚ (like any good older sister would do)

The clerk looked pretty skeptical when R started laughing, but she said she just couldn’t believe her baby sister was 21 already :).

We spent 3 days with the family. We hiked a lot, and did a boat tour of the Pictured Rocks National Forest. It was very relaxing!

About casadezhang

J and I got married in August 2010, and purchased our first house in May 2012. I decided to start a blog so I can ramble on about all the thing I find interesting. How is this different than any other home/life blog? It's probably not - but I just like to talk :). I'm not the best at updating my blogs, but I'll try to update at least once a week, or whenever anything interesting happens :).
